Alison Eliason

Director of Discover Yoga. She studied with Ellen Morrell and enjoys the qualities of viniyoga tradition of hatha yoga. She became a certified yoga instructor in 2000. Alison has studied locally and abroad. In 2006, she spent time at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India. She leads classes for children, adults and seniors. Alison has discovered how yoga benefits the body, mind and spirit. She invites all ages and abilities to experience the peaceful studio setting and yoga teachings at Discover Yoga.

Alison spends her time at Discover Yoga teaching classes and one-on-one sessions, teaching in the community and managing the studio. Alison incorporates yoga techniques into her daily life to help bring balance and enjoyment into living.

Yoga has helped her breathe easier, be aware of her body, mind and breath, notice her fears and judgements, and based on those observations, continue in her journey to be and create peace.

Alison is currently offering Yoga for Pregnancy Tuesdays at 10:30am, All Levels on Tuesdays at 7pm, and Monday and Wednesdays (not in July and August) at 9:30am, and Yoga 4 Kids! series. top ^

Adriana Babler

Certified yoga instructor. Adriana began her yoga practice eight years ago after being rear-ended and sustaining major back and neck injuries. Starting yoga improved her physical health and gave her a new outlook and optimism. Her practice and training incorporate a variety of yoga styles, particularly Anusara, Iyengar, Kundalini, and vinyasa yoga. Adriana is a certified yoga instructor and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance. She is also a certified Radiant Child yoga teacher (RCYP-2) and Thai Yoga massage practitioner. Before moving to Washington State in 2007, she worked as an Adjunct Professor of German and Senior Foreign Languages Instructional Technology Specialist at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington DC.

Adriana is passionate about teaching and about the practice of yoga, and she enjoys the opportunity to combine the two.

Brenda McGee

Certified yoga instructor currently working towards her 500 hour level certification. She has two children who bring joy to her life. She shares her love of yoga in an environment encouraging self-awareness, flexibility, and strength.

Brenda studied with Ellen Morell for her 200 hour certification and is currently training with Chris Dormier of Sound Yoga for her 500 hour level certification. Her interest lies in prenatal yoga.

Birgitte Veje

MS., M.Ed., certified yoga instructor, leads classes and one-on-one sessions that stretch, strengthen, and integrate body, mind, and spirit. She shares her love of yoga in an environment encouraging self-awareness and growth.

Birgitte has been studying with Gary Kraftsow for 4 years, and continues to expand her insight and inspiration with classes in yoga and alternative health care. Her special interest is prenatal yoga with the particular joys and challenges this time in life brings.

Kim Saganski

Completed the Intensive Yoga Studies and the Apprenticeship Programs at Discover Yoga in Redmond in 1998. She is continually exploring the practice of yoga as a student and a teacher (both locally and internationally).  She invokes a friendly and safe environment in her classes and enjoys composing new and different methods to approach the specific needs of each student and to provide appropriate challenges. 

Kim uses yoga to bring clarity and focus to the mind, energy and relaxation to the body, and a chance to connect with one’s self.  She focuses on becoming more aware of the body as well as the mind in order to reduce dis-ease caused by stress and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Kim is currently offering a Level 2 Yoga Class on Mondays and a Level 1 on Thursdays at 5:30pm. top ^

lesley hobbs

Lesley has over 10 years teaching experience and trained to become a certified yoga instructor at Shoshoni Ashram, CO in 2005. She has been practicing hatha yoga since 1997 and meditation since 2000. Lesley is also trained in transpersonal counseling, as a hands-on-healer, and aromatherapist. She is currently training to be a family mediator. Yoga has brought Lesley through challenging physical and emotional experiences with gentleness and focus; she sees teaching and sharing her own experiences as an honor she truly enjoys.

Lesley teaches Yoga for Pregnancy on Thursdays 7pm. top ^

Marcia Olmsted

B.Music, Master Library Science, certified yoga instructor (October 2007), and certified personal trainer (American Council for Exercise, November 2005), Marcia works full time as a strategy manager at Microsoft and balances and energizes her life with yoga, personal fitness and singing.

Marcia completed her 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certification in October 2007 with Tracy Weber at Whole Life Yoga and is committed to a path of continuing to seek joy and serenity in a full and busy life through practice of yoga and fitness.

Marcia substitues on occasion.

melissa weston valentine

MPT, MPH, Certified and Registered Yoga Instructor, teaches classes and one-on-one sessions which focus on finding and maintaining balance in the spine and the breath. Melissa has been practicing various forms of yoga for approximately 20 years and has received her teacher training from the Hatha Yoga Center in Seattle in 2005. She credits yoga in her recovery from a herniated disc in her spine.

Melissa takes joy in adapting the physical practice of yoga to individual physical needs and in surprising her students with the added benefits of mental clarity and inner calm. Her classes combine techniques learned from a number of different yoga schools as well as her work for the last 13 years as a Physical Therapist.

A new mom, Melissa is currently focusing on pre- and postnatal yoga as well as one-on-one instruction for individuals who require more personalized attention due to injury, illness or physical limitations.

Melissa teaches Yoga for Pregnancy on Saturdays at 10:30am and Level 1 at 9:00am.

Phyllis Moses


Guest instructor at Discover Yoga. She began her study and practice of yoga over 27 years ago. Her love of yoga led her to become a Certified Viniyoga Instructor, and Certified Yoga Therapist through Gary Kraftsow of American Viniyoga Institute. Phyllis also holds a B.A. in Psychology, is a registered counselor, C.Ht. and has worked closely with a Buddhist teacher for the past 12 years.

Phyllis elegantly weaves her knowledge of Western and Eastern thought together to create a bridge of understanding for her students. She's been teaching for over 12 years in varied settings such as yoga studios, hospitals, addiction recovery centers, meditation retreats, corporations, and internationally. Phyllis enjoys working privately with individuals, creating customized programs to support health and wellness.

Phyllis offers a Meditation Series. Another 4 week series begins Friday, Feb. 1st from 11:30-12:45pm.

Sunita Sethi


Sunita believes strongly in the practice of yoga. She obtained her yogic-knowledge from the Yoga Institute of Mumbai, India. She has participated in meditation workshops in Bangalore, southern India. She is a Reiki practictioner, a writer and a yoga instructor. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of the concepts of pranayama (breathing) practice.

She has six years of personal experience in the field of learning and sharing the 'art of yoga'. She is a student at Discover Yoga Studio. By choice, she also maintains the Library at the studio as she is highly passionate towards well-written books.

Sunita offers All Levels classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 12:15-1:15pm.

Susan Park


Yoga instructor since 2002. She leads classes and private sessions that energize, clear and focus the body, mind and breath. She practices meditation, a positive mental focus, enjoys the energy of the outdoors, and works as a real estate agent. She continues to expand her knowledge through life experience and ongoing yoga training. Her classes offer an avenue to breathe, increase energy, and refresh for teens, men and women.

Susan is currently offering a Level 1 class on mondays at 5:30pm and an All Levels class on Wednesdays at 5:30pm.

Cari Scheafer


Guest instructor at Discover Yoga. Cari Scheafer, M.A. TCM L.Ac holds her Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is a Nationally Certified herbalist and has obtained her Masters Certification in Nutrition Response Testing. She is a certified yoga instructor specializing in gentle and therapeutic yoga. She educates patients about proper nutrition, while removing the barriers in their body to healing, she not only helps them get well, but she also empowers them with the information they need to keep themselves healthy. She has practiced natural health care for over 8 years and has just recently relocated to the Pacific Northwest.

jane mcclenney

Jane McClenney is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, and has been teaching movement for 10 years, and includes craniosacral and gentle osteopathic techniques in her practice. Jane lives and teaches weekly Awareness Through Movement® classes in Ellensburg, WA, and maintains a private practice in both Redmond and Ellensburg. She also enjoys working with horseback riders desiring to ride with more connection with their horses, as well as the horses themselves.

Jane and Alison have been offering and co-teaching yoga and Feldenkrais workshops for children and adults for a number of years. The combination of both disciplines has proved to be fun and educational for students. For both teachers, it is a pleasure watching/assisting people to learn in an enjoyable way, learning skills to move in ways that are pleasurable and relatively pain free.

Danick Jawer


Guest instructor at Discover Yoga. Danick Isabelle Jawer, an energy consultant and a lifelong musician, brings together gentle techniques to help free the voice and fully connect with our natural ability to heal and balance ourselves with sound. Danick's life long passion is singing and exploring the mysteries of vocal expression. She is a vocalist for Ancient Sounds, a meditative world music ensemble featuring didgeridoos and Native American flutes and more (www.ancientsounds.org). An experienced voice teacher for 18 years, Danick has a degree in Music from the Conservatoire of Music of Chalon, France. She is a co-director of S.H.O.W., the Sound Healers of Washington (www.soundhealers.com), founded in 1991 to promote the use of sound as therapy and for well being.
