The intention of these programs is in-depth study and personal transformation through workshops, techniques instruction, anatomy and physiology, group practice, yogic philosophy, student labs, private sessions, personal practice and home study. The 9 to 12 months time period of the training programs allows for deep personal transformation and integration of the yogic principles. Call today for more information.
To be accepted into the program, you need yoga experience, attend all the training sessions, complete homework and a commit to a personal practice. These are the basic requirements to make your training a success.

program explores the basic principles of Yoga, with emphasis on the unique principles of Viniyoga in asana, breath, meditation and sound. This program provides the students with an opportunity to experience the many benefits of Yoga.
The intention of this program is in-depth study and personal transformation through workshops, techniques instruction, anatomy and physiology, Viniyoga group practices, yogic philosophy, student labs, private sessions, personal practice and home study.
WORKSHOPS offer a full spectrum of information, integrated with experiential practice, these sessions provide invaluable tools for deepening your understanding of Yoga-in and out of the classroom.
DEVELOPING a PERSONAL PRACTICE
Learn how to assess your overall condition, set your intention, select appropriate asanas and techniques and a sequence for a truly integrated practice.
MEDITATION—BEING PRESENT
Learn the basic principles of meditation. Experience techniques that can help keep you focused, attentive and “present” in your practice and your life.
AYURVEDA
General overview and application to Yoga. The physical and emotional qualities that influence our health and wellness.
ASANA VARIATIONS—WHAT WORKS FOR YOU
Explore variations of the classic asanas. Find the
variations and adaptations that are most beneficial for your body, your capacities and your aspirations.
INTEGRATION—DEEPENING YOUR PRACTICE
With greater awareness and intentions, the integration of yogic techniques including asana, pranayama, meditation, kriya, mantra and chanting in your personal practice can lead to a deeper experience of Yoga.
TECHNIQUES INSTRUCTION includes the training and practice of a full range of asanas: Forward Bends, Backbends, Laterals, Twists, Extensions, Balances and Inversions. Sanskrit names, intentions and benefits of the asanas, integration of the breath, and sequencing principles will be explored. Emphasis includes training and practice of pranayama, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation and traditional yoga techniques.
ANATOMY and PHYSIOLOGY provides more detail of the bodily systems: The Skeletal System, Systems i.e. digestive,
endocrine, immunity and respiratory, Muscular: Muscles and
Fascia, Origin of Movement, The Blood—Vascular
System, Reproductive System, Brain and Nervous System.
VINIYOGA GROUP PRACTICES with the instructor offer you the opportunity to observe practices and experience the energy, flow and dynamics of group practice.
YOGIC PHILOSOPHY explores the teachings of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Desikachar’s text, The Heart of Yoga, and other relevant readings and presentations of Yoga and relationships.
PRIVATE SESSIONS with the instructor, offer individual
guidance in progress and direction throughout the program. These sessions are essential in refining your personal practice and
developing the teacher-student relationship.
PERSONAL PRACTICE and HOME STUDY play an important role in the growth process. The discipline of Yoga leads to the discovery of the self and personal transformation.

The weekend hours are Fridays, 5:00-8:00pm, Saturdays, 9:00-5:30pm. The Monday evening hours are 5:45-9:00pm. There are five workshops (12.5 hours), dates dependent on student preference. In addition, the student meets with the instructor for two private sessions.
The weekend dates are the following: January 30 and 31, February 27 and 28, March 27 and 28, April 24 and 25, May 15 and 16, June 19 and 20, July 24 and 25, August 21 and 22, and September 25 and 26. s open to students who are currently enrolled in or have completed the INTENSIVE STUDY PROGRAM. This 50-hour program develops the essential tools for teaching yoga, with emphasis on observation of the student and application of appropriate principles. The instructor provides a supportive environment which allows the development of confident and competent Yoga instructors.
The intention of this program is to learn the art of teaching and understand the transformational gifts of Yoga through teacher methodology, ethics of a teacher, practical business skills, instructor practicum classes, and continued personal practice and home study.
TEACHER METHODOLOGY includes instruction on a full range of topics, designed to enhance the overall skills and esteem of the aspiring instructor.
DEVELOPING TEACHING SKILLS
This session explores the role of the teacher, the students’ yogic experience, the integration of Viniyoga principles and effective presentation skills and demonstration principles. There will be hands-on practice and question & answer segments.
DESIGNING GROUP CLASSES
Design classes that are efficient, effective and elegant. Learn how to teach asana awareness, outline a 90-minute group class, design a 6-week course, and present an introductory class.
OBSERVATION, ASSESSMENT and ADAPTATION
Learn to observe and assess the student’s body, movement and breath in order to teach the most effective techniques and appropriate adaptations. Case study presentation and private sessions are explored.
PROSPERING AS A YOGA TEACHER
Learn the business of Yoga. Administrative, financial,
marketing and advertising information is presented to support the aspiring Yoga teacher’s success.
ANATOMY and PHYSIOLOGY provides more information about the mechanics, principles of progression, overload, use and disuse and the importance of rest and relaxation.
INSTRUCTOR PRACTICUM CLASSES offer excellent opportunities to observe and practice the science and art of teaching.
OBSERVE and ASSIST CLASSES
Observe the instructor, students, structure and dynamics of the class from an instructor’s perspective. Assist in teaching and doing the administrative functions for a class. These
sessions will help to refine your understanding of applying appropriate postures and sequencing the practice and build confidence in a classroom setting.
STUDENT TEACHING
The prospective instructors are encouraged to explore their own style of teaching, as the instructor observes the use of techniques and management of the students and classroom.
WORKSHOPS offer more information to integrate into the teaching and understanding of Yoga.
EXPLORING the CHAKRA SYSTEM
Study the seven major energy centers. Integrate Yoga techniques, including sound, to bring greater balance to the physical and subtle systems.
YOGA for PREGNANCY
Learn the differences in teaching Yoga to prenatal women for all stages of pregnancy. Learn the most common questions and issues.

This 200-hour program is a combination of the following two courses:

This program includes a total of 190 classroom-training hours and 10 outside classroom labs and practicum hours, and home and practice hours. Here is an approximate breakdown of the hours, by categories, contained in the Instructor Certification Program:

Upon completion of the Instructor Certification Program, students will receive a Certificate of Completion and may apply to the Yoga Alliance for National Certification. Students must complete:

Attend all classes or make-up classes at an additional fee.
Schedule to teach a class and have instructor observe.
Complete 5 hours of teaching for community service.
Complete a written paper and final presentation.
